The suction pulsation dampener reduces the pressure fluctuations that occur in the suction line of a dosing pump. On long suction lines and at high stroke frequencies, acceleration pressure on the suction side prevents the pump from filling completely, reducing dosing accuracy and potentially causing cavitation.

Installed close to the suction line, the dampener absorbs the acceleration effect of the liquid mass, so the pump runs more steadily and the service life of the suction valve increases.
